Jumperoo

The Jumperoo is officially Talon's favorite toy - thanks "Auntie" Suzanne! I think he could be in it all day if we let him. I guess it's a good way for him to be upright without being held and the best part is it makes him "Syd height"!

I tried to upload a video of Talon jumping - it's too cute! - but after 15 minutes of waiting for it to upload I gave up. I need a new computer SO bad!

Ski Joring

In an effort to give Talon a taste of his Scandinavian heritage, we decided to go to Leadville and check out some Ski Joring (Leadville's version of Skijoring). This is by far the craziest thing I have ever seen, but what a fun experience! The Leadville version is all about speed where horses pull the skiiers though a course down Main Street.

First we stop at our favorite breakfast joint - the Route 6 Cafe in Eagle-Vail. The Route 6 is a gas station and diner, hence the "Eat Here, Get Gas" sign. Gotta love their humor!!


It was a beautiful, bright and sunny day in Leadville - good thing Talon remembered his sunglasses!!

Here is the race course - they literally block off the main street in town.

We spent Valentine's Day in Oakland for my Grandparents 60th wedding anniversary - I can only hope that Matt and I can make it that long! :) Though Grandpa decided at the last minute he didn't want no stinking party, we still enjoyed seeing them and Uncle Dana and Greg. Talon is such a good traveler at this point that we are trying to get to as much family as possible.

We took Talon in for his 4 month appointment. As I predicted he's a "chunky monkey"! He weighs 16 lbs which puts him in the 75th percentile - luckily the doctor didn't put him on a diet, but dad says he looks like he could be on a Michelin commercial! They measured him at 23 1/2 inches which only puts him in the 15th percentile - darn Spencer genes! Most importantly, he is healthy and progressing beautifully. He can almost sit up by himself and supposedly he can roll over with ease, though Matt and I have yet to see it. He's regularly sleeping 6-8 hours a night, though we've had a rough week this week.

Talon's 1st day at Day Care

After 12 wonderful weeks with her little man, Natanee had to return to work. This means that Talon got to go to his first day of Day Care. Talon goes to Little Blessings run by a couple of friends of ours two days a week and really enjoys all the excitement and energy of being around so many other kids. We were very lucky to get him in - it's amazing how difficult it is to get into a good day care situation here. We've been on lists at various centers in the valley since I was just 3 months pregnant! Lucky for us Tiffany decided to start a new facility in her home and Talon is now one of three to four infants she watches on Mondays and Tuesdays. Then for the remaining three days, Talon is lucky enough to be watched by Grandma Patty. He loves talking, playing and dancing the day away with her (and I think she loves it too!) We are truly blessed to have found such perfect situations for him!!

Whirlwind Trip to the NW

The first week of January (yes, I know it's taken me a while to get these uploaded) took us to the Northwest for a whirlwind trip introducing Talon to his family. It was a wonderful trip and we saw many, many people. Thank you to all who took time out of their days and weekends to spend some time with us! We love and miss you all!!
